What normally happens is that it will synchronise all the changes since you last connected to the mail server (i.e. your Yahoo account).

The mail stays on the server, ZD will synchronise the on-line account with itself so any changes you make in ZD
or your Yahoo account will be reflected in both places when a sync happens.
