Default [SOLVED] Zimbra Account type

Hi,
i'm not a ZD user, but i'm interested to deploy as standard mail client on my company.
I'm looking on FAQ, docs and Forum without luck about one specific item (that apears to be a stupid question, but its important to do):

If i choose "Zimbra Account", the protocol used to get mails is POP3?
I mean, all email from user mailbox on zimbra server will be gone (transfered to user computer)? Or still exist as a copy ?

As I said before, apears to be a stupid question, but its very important to decide what to do next, deploy ZD on all company machines, or still using alternatives.

Thank you so much,
And nice work with.

If your backend server is NOT zimbra and you want to use Zimbra Desktop as a Standard Email Client then you should NOT pick "zimbra" as accunt type, but use IMAP or POP3 as your do with any other email client (i.e.: outlook or thunderbird)

If your backend server IS zimbra then you get best functionality (full colab) using "zimra" as account type..even tough you can still use limited IMAP or POP3 if you want
