Default Zimbra Desktop disable local cache

Hello,

is it possible to disable local caching of emails in Zimbra Desktop? (i.e. emails are not downloaded to local disk).

Have a nice day,
Jan

No, it's not. Zimbra Desktop is an 'offline' mail client, that means it downloads mail to your local machine for viewing. What is it you're trying to do and why?

Thanks for your answer.
We have customers which are using virtual desktops and have limited amount of space available on their disk. Because Zimbra Desktop caches emails there is twice the consumption of space (mailbox and local disk). Also, customers prefer using full blown email client rather than checking emails over web.

Well, as I said, that's the way it's currently designed to run - as an offline client.

Surely that's a contradiction in terms? The Zimbra Desktop has pretty much the same functionality as the Web UI for connecting to a Zimbra server. If you mean other mail accounts then there's an RFE for an option to only download headers, I think that's about as close as you're going to get - vote on that RFE if you're interested in seeing it i the product.
