Default Create a copy of a message - is it possible?

Hi Everyone

We recently deployed Zimbra across our organization of about 200 users. One of them has now asked me how she can create a copy of a message so that the same message appears in 2 different folders. It is not my place to ask why she wants to do something odd like that but I know other mail clients do allow copying.

The obvious "right click and copy" does not apply in this case. Also, she does not want to use tags for this purpose which would solve the problem elegantly imho.

So, can a message be copied in ZD or even in the web interface?

Thanks in advance
Simon

Wouldn't this be a great use case for 'tags'? Tags would essentially do the same thing (mail could have two tags, and show up in both), without affecting her email quota by actually duplicating content, and not creating extra work when she's done (two messages to delete versus one).

I clearly skipped that line. In the web interface, there's no way to do this although right-click and "edit as new" would be close - you would be able to choose that and send yourself a 'copy' which can then be moved. This is likely not what she wants, but then tags is what she wants, she just doesn't know it yet.

Aside from that, a standard IMAP client or Outlook via connector, but I appreciate the desire to keep people out of third party software.

Surely it must be possible to copy a message from one folder to another?

I need to make a copy of some emails from one account to another, and I do not want to move them...

Any way of doing this?

And does anyone have any idea why there is no copy function?

Seems very bizarre to me :-)

Thanks!!

Anders

Hold down the shift key and drag the message.

Glad that helped. Interesting that trick is not on the shortcuts list in preferences, although maybe, technically it's not a keyboard shortcut. But there are enough "undocumented" tricks in Zimbra like this that maybe there ought to another document in preferences that lists other shortcuts. I don't see an explanation for copying a message in the help file.

Well, really it should be on the right click menu if you ask me...

And, yes, your tip saved my day! Thanks again!
