The latter. Make sure the new install is more or less working (i.e. you can at least get to account setup page), then stop the service, replace those directories and restart.

Thumbs up It Worked!!!

jflanigan,

At the end of your last post when you said restart I thought restart the service. That didn't work.

When I restarted my PC, it did. Case closed.

Thanks for helping me get all those important emails and contacts back...
