Default Changing color of calendar text?

I'm running ZD2 RC1 on MacOS Leopard.

I have a blue background for my primary Google Calendar. Some events I schedule come out in white text. Some come out in black text, where black on blue in particular is harder to read. I can't seem to find a rhyme or reason to the color choices for the text.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to actually control the calendar text color as well as the background color, so I can have my primary calendar show up as a bold white-on-blue, while the other Google Calendars I have to keep track of show up as grey-on-more-muted-colors. (Ideally, I'd like to have more of a background color palette too, but I see others have complained of the same issue -- this is just about the text) There's even one particular calendars I'd want to monitor where bright red text on a muted background would be most appropriate.

Thoughts?
