Question Can Zimbra Flters read email message headers.

Is it possible to allow (or add an option that allows) a filter to read email headers. This would be similar to the rules you can create in Outlook to search in the message header.

This is especially helpful to filter emails by IP addresses (for spam). . Also, catches spammers that use fake email address to hide their true emails as header filters can be directed to capture their true email domains in the header. Also can save having to create multiple filters for Subject, TO and From.

Thanks.

What's wrong with using the filter "Header Named" with "contains"?

Okay - what I don't understand is the blank field after "Header Named". Does that mean I have to check the internet header and obtain a Header Name from it.

I know in Outlook the rule to search the internet header does not have this extra "Header Named" field and the header rule simply searches the entire internet header of the email.

I think some example other than those in help could clarify this for me.

Thanks.

Yes, that's exactly what it means.
