Default How to update form beta 3 to beta 4?

I have zd 2 beta 3 installed. Can i just installed zd 2 beta 4 over it? Or do I need to uninstall and then install beta 4?

I apologize for asking such a simple question, but I can't find anything on this subject even though I know it's been covered before.

Run the installer and install it in the same location as your current version, it should upgrade OK. As always, this is beta software so take a backup before you do anything to ZD.

Thanks for the tip. I have installed now to the same location. On starting zd, it's been spinning the little icon for at least an hour. Not a good sign.

Close the GUI and restart it, see if that works.

Yes, that helped. I didn't want to close it prematurely because I do have a lot of folders and figured it might be updating the data store or something.

So you're confirming that the GUI opened after the restart? If the answer is yes then see if it happens again after you've rebooted your PC and if the same thing happens could you file a bug report?

Closing the GUI shouldn't cause any problems as the work of downloading etc. is done by a ZD service running in the background.
