Messages open too quickly

I would like to stop Zimbra from instantly selecting and opening the next email in the list. I would like to choose which email I will open next, and I do not want something marked as read by the program when I have not read it. Has anyone else had this problem, and is there anything we can do about it?

Go up to Preferences, then on the left go to "Mail", and there is an option that says "When I read a message in the reading pane" where you can choose when (or if) to mark it as read.

Thanks for your help. I set it to wait for 60 seconds before changing the status. That gives me plenty of time to decide whether I want to read something now, or leave it for later.
