Default Any ETA for Outlook Import to ZD? If Thunderbird can do it...

I have Outlook 2003 and tried Thunderbird (not really sold on it) and it was easily able to import everything from Outlook. Apparently the pst file format is now accessible to non-MS programmers. It seems Zdesktop should be able to do that by now. Is there any roadmap for this? It seems the only option I have now is to get a personal zimbra hosting account, upload all my outlook content, download it to ZD and then cancel the account. I shouldn't have to do that. Easy import from Outlook to ZD would build user base and that's good for potential expansion of ZCS use in the future.

If you have the Zimbra Admin console, you can select downloads. There is a .PST wizard that will allow you to Import .PST file directly into Zimbra.

Note it is recommended to Export/ import your calendar and contact information first before grabbing your messages and folder structure.

Default z admin console

So you do have to have a hosted zimbra account, as that is the only way to get to the admin console. Zimbra Desktop can't import Outlook into itself without a hosted account even with the wizard, right?

Yes

To use the Import wizard you would need Hosted Zimbra so you can download it directly from the admin console.

Does your data still reside on the server you are migrating from?

If it is you could connect your Zimbra Desktop to it and and export it out.

Hope this helps.
