Default Zimbra desktop not respecting zimbra server signature length

I've set a size limit of 100000 for the signature on the zimbra server, and my long signature works fine through the web interface, but the zimbra desktop client refuses to add a signature over the default 1024 character length. How do I resolve this?

You don';t say which version of the Zimbra client you're using is it ZD 1.x or ZD 2.x beta? Have you searched the forums for an answer to this question?

ah yes, I'm running Zimbra Desktop 1.0.4 (build 1833) on a mac. I see that bug is only fixed in the 2.0 version, but don't see that available for mac yet. Is there an eta for that?

You can give zimbra desktop 2.0 beta a try, the download link can be found at Zimbra Desktop 2 FAQ - Zimbra :: Wiki.

Note - ZD 1.0 and 2.0 installations are different and can co-exist on a machine.
