Automatic Folder Sharing

Does Zimbra have the ability to automatically send a folder sharing invitation when a person is added to a Group that was previously sent the sharing invitation? Here is the scenario:

- HR manager shares her HR folder to Everyone (email group) on 2-1-10
- new employee is hired on 4-1-10
- new employee is added to Zimbra and becomes part of the Everyone Group

Can/will Zimbra automatically send an HR folder sharing email to this new employee? Thank you.

Yes, it can.
But in group page of admin console, you must publish that share for every one in group. If published, every one who is added to this group is auto sent invite share mail

Thank you for your first reply to my inquiry. My admin has asked for additional info/guidance. Here are his comments:

"I'm guessing that they are referring to Distributions Lists -> select email address -> edit -> shares?

I looked around the admin console and did not find the referenced "group page of admin console". Perhaps you could ask for more details."

In admin console of zimbra, group page is "distribution list".
when you click on the "Distribtion List", zimbra will open "manager Distribution lists", where you can see all the DL that your system has.
Choose the DL that you want --> and you can do the task that I said above
