This document contains some information on installing Zimlets into Zimbra Desktop (1.0 and 2.0 Beta):

Ok, I tried to set a fixed port by changing the "jetty.xml" file but it doesn't work...
I also copied my Zimlet into the folder "zimlets" but I can't see the tag Zimlet on the left...
I use ZD 2.0 beta1 b10343, OS WinXP...

No need to set the fixed port just to deploy zimlets to Zimbra Desktop (ZD). That's just documented in case you need to do development on ZD.

Can you confirm which directory you copied your zimlet ZIP package into? What zimlet are you deploying?

c:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Application Data\Zimbra\Zimbra Desktop\zimlets

c:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Application Data\Zimbra\Zimbra Desktop\zimlets

I don't have this folder, maybe because I installed ZD in

C:\Programs\Zimbra\Zimbra Desktop

I copied my Zimlet into the folder

C:\Programs\Zimbra\Zimbra Desktop\data\zimlets

There are actually two directories for Zimbra Desktop after install:

- the app install directory (C:\Programs\Zimbra\Zimbra Desktop)
- the user data directory (c:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Application Data\Zimbra\Zimbra Desktop)

I've updated the wiki to reflect this information:

The zimlet ZIP needs to be installed into the zimlets folder in the user data directory. To find the user data directory on Windows, if you are using Explorer, you need to be sure to unhide "hidden" folders.

1) Open explorer.exe
2) Browse to c:\Documents and Settings\{your-user-name}
3) If you don't see "Local Settings", go to "Tools > Folder Options" and switch to the "View" tab.
4) There is a section for "Hidden files and folders". Check "Show hidden files and folders"
5) Click "apply"
6) Now you should see the "Local Settings" folder. Continue to browse until you get to the zimlets directory.
7) Drop your zimlet ZIP in place
8) Restart the Zimbra Desktop service

Ok, done...
It seems that Zimbra has seen my Zimlet and moved it in
"{the folder you told me}/backup".
In this folder there are ZD's default Zimlets and mine.

But I don't see the tag Zimlets in ZD... Isn't that supposed to happen only in ZD 1.0? I need that because my Zimlet works on Drag N Drop...

I was wondering if I could use Zimbra Desktop to develop Zimlets.
But it (ZD 2.0 beta 2) seems to keep a cache of the zimlets somewhere, so when I change something, it doesnt get updated. Only when i change the language I can see the changes I made.
If I switch it back the changes are gone.
Can someone please tell me how to change it or where the cache is so I can delete it from time to time?
Thx
