Default features of Zimbra Desktop compared to Eudora

I am considering moving from my trusted but alas obsolete Eudora to another mailclient - would anyone know the answer to these questions ?

* can I run multiple instances of Zimbra Desktop simultaneously ?
* can email be redirected (keeping original sender)?
* can I copy mailboxes (and transfer them to another computer - eg I want to take the outbox from the pc at my office, and copy it to my laptop when I go on a trip)?

I believe you can with the new Zimbra Desktop 2.0. It's still in beta, so be careful with it.

I know for sure that it can be if you're using an account on a Zimbra server. I haven't tried it with a non-Zimbra account though.

You can use the Import/Export features to copy mailboxes between computers using Zimbra Desktop.

thanks for putting my mind at rest, it sound promising, I will try out Zimbra 2.0when it is released. "redirecting mail" is a nice feature of Eudora, but not a sine qua non; the other two features are indispensable (and *not* available in other alternatives such as Thunderbird or Eudora 8.0). I will keep the Eudora-alternatives forum posted about the results.

The only "multiple instance" functionality added in ZD2 is that multiple users on the same computer can now run/install it. As far as i know no mail client allows you to run multiple instances at the same time for a single user. For what reason do you want this functionality?

Also just as a note: You can copy the profile folder for Thunderbird between computers and everything, settings mail and all, will be moved over.
