Default Gmail Help

I hate Microsoft. They offered me a trial Office 2010 beta. I didn't like it and when I tried to remove it, it messed up my Outlook 2003 by removing my Product Key. Now Outlook won't work anymore. I really want to try Zimbra Desktop but I have not been able to setup my Gmail account. I keep getting the error: "Cannot connect to "SMTP server". Please check host/port and network connectivity." I have verified that I have IMAP Enabled but it's still not working. Anyone have a fix I could try?

You will have to do a IMAP over SSL while you are setting up gmail account:

Incoming server port should be : 993
Outgoing server port should be: 465

I am a bit confused here. Are you asking how to connect to Gmail via ZDesktop ? or Outlook ?

Sorry dont understand why Outlook is mentioned at all in your post

How did you set the account up? If you used the gmail account type it should be working flawlessly...

If you setup the account as IMAP then you probably have entered in something wrong in the server settings.

I was looking at Zimbra Desktop because my Outlook does not work anymore and I don't want to pay Microscrew for an email/calendar program again. Thanks for the help but I have given up on Zimbra and am now using Thunderbird with Lightning. So far so good. Never got a chance to compare it to Zimbra. :-(
