Default How do I get the latest version of ZD?

I'm using the windows version of community zd and when I right click the zd icon in the system tray, and choose About ZD it says:

Yahoo Zimbra Desktop 1.0 (build 1593)
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008072406 Prism (zdesktop/1.0)

When I tell it to check for updates, it says I have the latest version.

But it's been a long time since I have seen zd update itself; and the version listed for download on the website looks newer than build 1593:

zdesktop_1_0_3_build_1691_win32.exe

So...is there a bug in the update routine in zd? If that is a newer version than what I have, can I just download and run the installer and have it gracefully update my zd?

The current version is 1.0.3 and you already have the latest version.

Current versions can be downloaded here: Zimbra Desktop and future version details and availability are on the Product Portal.

Thanks for the reply.

How can you tell that I have the latest version? As I noted, what 'About' says is

Yahoo Zimbra Desktop 1.0 (build 1593)
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008072406 Prism (zdesktop/1.0)

It does not look like the version that is available on the website...that's why I posted. If I have the latest verison wouldn't it say build 1691, or 1.0.3, instead of build 1593, 1.0???

I have absolutely no idea why I said that, you actually have the last version but IIRC the current release was for a minor bug fix and if you have no problems then there's no need to download the version from the web site. You can, of course, download the version fro the website and upgrade with no ill effects - don't forget to backup (export) your data before upgrading. You can find further details of upcoming releases and betas in the Product Portal

My zd has plenty of problems <g>. I will try the update and see if it helps any.

I wonder if they know that the automated update routine does not work? I am still confused a bit by what you've written...if there is a later version of zd, shouldn't the automated routine have asked if I want to install it? Also confused a bit because in your second reply you again said I have the latest version, but then seemed to indicate that I don't and could upgrade.

I believe it was because the current version was a minor (and specific) bug fix.

No, I actually said you had the "last version" (as in 'previous) not the latest.

Bill, I've exported data from various accounts. But, if I run the new install, will it preserve my account settings? Or are they going to be tossed?

Nevermind...the next dialog said user data will be preserved, and it did. The backups were 'just in case'.

Thanks Bill

Yes, it always keeps the current data.

Prudence would suggest that's always the best course of action before any software update.
