Sending Mail Issues

Okay - Had 2 issues but just solved the yahoo one of not being able to send mail by signing into yahoo webmail, sending an email and using the verification code. Now yahoo works.

However, with my free hotmail account, i can receive mail but not send/reply to email. It just sits in my "outbox' doing nothing and hotmail won't even fetch/update new email until i delete the attemped sent email in the outbox

I have correctly setup the hotmail account from what my searches have told me. Any help would be nice.
