Default Problem with search function

Hello everyone

i have been using Zimbra for a while and i am happy about this great product

however I have encountered recently a problem I used to have with it that miraculously had disappeared...

the search function does not work anymore... even when carefully applying the advanced settings it usually returns "no result found" whereas my mailbox has more than 2 GB of emails!!!!

I think it can now only perform exact match (gmail would not be found in *@gmail.com string) and only for the so many messages part of the open page (100 per page in my case)

does any one around have faced the same problem? do you know how to solve it?

thank you very much because the search function is usually so useful and it is very frustrating

Default Problem with search function

Even I am facing this problem with the search function where it searches only for exact matches.

If I search the word director, the word PowerDirector will not show up.

Additional features desirable (Bug 42708 added).

In advanced search, there is no way to select / deselect ALL folders all at
once. I have to click them one at a time. Having this ability will be very
useful.

It will be very useful to also have the default search behavior to be
modifiable as part of configuration options.

Configuration can have the additional options like

- Whether default behavior to allow search in ALL folders or only selected
folder.
- Whether case sensitive or case-insensitive search to be used.
- Whether partial / exact phrase search to be used.

The above options should be also available as part of advanced search so that the default behavior can be overridden when required for specific searches.

Default

the thing that surprise me most is that it used to work just fine and I have no idea what happened for it now to default to exact search

same thing for the range it used to be all the folders by default (except trash for which there was a specific box to tick) and now I have no idea what is the searched area at all

but what surprised me most is that it happened suddenly

by the way

the search function kind of restarted to work just as suddenly

very strange

and the results are sometime exhaustive sometime not, for hard to fathom reasons...
