Imported Contacts not recognized when composing email

I imported contacts from another address book into Zimbra. The import went well. However, how do I get Zimbra to recognize these contacts whenever I go to compose and email? In other words, their email address isn't showing in the drop down box when I begin to type it. Instead, I have to type out the address fully, even though the contact is in my Zimbra address book now. I hope this makes sense.
