Thumbs down Outbound e-mail address wrong after domain name change

    Good morning all.

After updating to the latest ZCS OSS release, and making a domain name change, all outbound mail from Zimbra Desktop clients still show the old domain in the e-mail address.

Is there an easy way to fix this, or am I going to have to have all ZD users remove their clients & datasets, and re-install/re-sync?

Exclamation Removal and re-install required to fix problem

Seems that the best fix is to completely remove ZD, and reinstall/resync with the server.

Editing the e-mail address in the account setup for Zimbra Desktop does not work.

In versions of ZD prior to 1.0.2, you can change the e-mail address on the account setup page, but upon clicking OK, the address reverts to what it was prior to the change.

In release 1.0.2, however, the e-mail address field is greyed out, and you cannot edit it at all.

This can become problematic and very time consuming for installations where multiple users have multi-gigabyte mailboxes that must now be resynchronized so that recipients of their messages will show the correct "From:" e-mail address.

It seems that Outlook and other mail clients can handle an e-mail address change much more gracefully than Zimbra Desktop. I realize Zimbra Desktop is a relatively new product (compared to Outlook), but I feel this is something that definitely needs to be addressed in a future release, and the sooner the better.

Then you need to file an entry in bugzilla if you want this changed, search for any outstanding RFEs and file (and vote) one if there's nothing there.

I didn't realize the bug creator also had to vote for it, so I just did. Thanks.
