Once an email is sent then it's gone out of your control and will be delivered to the intended recipient.

I think I saw an enhancement request for this. Obviously this is for email within the email system itself. I think it's a nice feature. I know Groupwise has this feature, and I'm pretty sure Exchange does as well. Not sure about Notes.
