Default zdesktop does not shut down properly under ubuntu hardy

Hi to all,

each time i close zdesktop (clicking on the cross at the top right of the window) the zdesktop processes don't close properly and if i launch zdesktop again i have the following message:
Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop process, or restart your system.

As a workaround i do a
Quote:
ps auxww | grep zdesktop
and then i kill the offending processes.

I have looked at zdesktop.log (the only log recent enough to hold any information about the app shutting down), it shows no error, i have searched the forum and bugzilla but could not find something similar. Am i the only one with this problem ?

you should kill zdclient process, not the java(zdesktop) process. zdesktop is the backend service which continues to sync your emails in the background when the frontend UI is not running.

i have tested and confirm that killing only the zdclient process is enough.

I have filled Bug 39073 in bugzilla.
