It would help if you were to let us know which version of ZCS aswellI receive my VMs from Asterisk into ZCS and have no issues at all with truncation.Code:su - zimbra
zmcontrol -v
Sorry.
I am using v 1.0 build 1593
I don't think its a zimbra server.
My messages go to Voice Nation and then are sent to my Yahoo! hosted web email.
If I download them into Outlook, they are fine, but when they go to Zimbra desktop they are truncated (cut short).
Thanks
We've noticed this, too. If I get an mp3 attachment in Zimbra and if you click on the attachment, it doesn't play the entire message (i.e., it truncates it). In my case it's a voice mail attachment from ooma.com and for some of our staff, it's a voice mail attachment from a cisco VOIP system.
It seems to be size related, because my first message which looks like it's not as well compressed (different bit rate and sample rate) played much less than the other messages.
I ran some test and got the following results:
59 second message plays 10 seconds (397 KB);
52 second message plays 23 seconds (155 KB);
45 second message plays 27 seconds (119 KB);
41 second message plays 22 seconds (121 KB);
39 second message plays 22 seconds (117 KB);
28 second message plays 22 seconds (83 KB);
24 second message plays completely (73 KB);
23 second message plays completely (67 KB);
Also, if you copy the attachment to your briefcase and then try to play it, the same truncation occurs.
If you download the attachment to your computer and play it, no problem...
I looked in bugzilla and couldn't find anything related to truncated mp3s. Depending on what comments I get on this posting, I will post something in bugzilla.
So, is anyone else seeing this behavior?
Thanks...
Hmmm, what browser plugin is being used to play the message ?
Thanks for the quick response, uxbox. That's my problem. I'm using FF3.0 on a Mac and it's using the QT 7.6.6 plug-in. Safari on Mac works fine.
I tried FF on Windows (which doesn't have a plug-in) and it downloads the file and opens with a local app. So does IE.
However, I think this is a jetty problem then. What I didn't mention in my earlier posting, as part of my testing yesterday, I copied one of the mp3 files to a web server (we have SunOne web servers), clicked on the file and it played just fine. Today, I copied the same mp3 file to asubdirectory under jetty, entered that URL into my browser and the file got truncated while playing.
So, doesn't this sound like Jetty is doing something to contribute to this problem?
