    Default Searching With Quotes

I am having problems setting up an advanced search for an exact phrase. When I put the phrase in quotes, for example "book sale", in the Subject field, I get all messages that contain the word book or sale. When I use 'book sale' (single quotes), I get messages that contain both the word book and sale. How can I get it to return just the messages that contain the exact phrase "book sale"? I've read the wiki and it seems to be incorrect or this is some sort of error. Also, can exact phrases be searched for in the content field? I haven't had any luck with this either.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried \"Book Sale\" but that did not work. Do you have any other ideas?

Do you mean constructing a search using the advanced button? That works for me as does the search bar. Which version and release of Zimbra are you using?

Yes, I am talking about using the advanced search. If I were to do the search you did, I would get the same result. That is because it is searching for the words VMware AND ESXi and NOT "VMware ESXi." For instance, if I search "Book Sale" I will get results like "Comic Book Collection For Sale" when what I want is the phrase "book sale." I am using ZD 1.0.

That is incorrect, it is searching for an exact match and is not an 'AND' function (that's what the quotes mean - you can check in the help file), if I remove the quotes I'll find the six additional emails that have those words in the subject.

Post a screen shot of it not working on your system.

    Default Another Example

Here is an example if I use ' to enclose the search terms rather than ". This will at least return subjects that contain both terms but it still does not return subjects that contain the exact phrase.

As the search with quotes is for an exact match have you tried using "Book Sale"?

Yes, I have tried that but there is no difference. Is this possibly an issue only with the Linux version?
