    Question Unbundle Java?

Is it possible to unbundle Java Runtime Environment from the Zimbra Desktop? I am concerned that the version with Zimbra Desktop contains several vulnerabilities.

Version of YZD: Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop 1.0 (build 1537)
Bundled JRE: Sun Java JRE 1.5.x (5.0.150.4)

JDK 5.0u18 Release Notes lists u16, u17 and u18 as containing security fixes.

Alternatively is there a way to update the bundled version of the JRE without affecting the system-wide JRE?

    Many thanks,

    Default Security of Zimbra Desktop

Okay; in lieu of an answer I wonder if I could get feedback from other users as to whether they consider the use of a vulnerable Java Runtime Environment to be a valid security concern? I would have thought that with email being a significant attack vector any problems with the security of the client (and it's dependencies) would be a high-priority issue?

Am I really just being too paranoid?

    Many thanks,
