Default Problems on 64bit Vista

Anybody have any experience with ZD on 64bit Vista? I've had no problems with ZD on 64bit Ubuntu and pretty good experience with 32bit Vista. I recently installed ZD on 64bit Vista and have had nothing but reports of problems.

-Can not add attachments to emails (reboot and it works for a while)
-Email not being sent out (reboot and it works for a while).

I finally told the user to go back to webmail and we'll uninstall the client from your computer.

Let me find out from the devs if ZD running on a 64bit Vista system was tested or not.

When you stated, "works for a while", how long before ZD stops working?

I can't give you an exact number, but I can say less than an hour. This is one of my remote employees, so I haven't seen the problems with my own eyes. The reported problems were failure of attachments to add to the email, then I was told that emails were not going out and were just sitting in the outbox. I then told her to stop using ZD for now and switch back to webmail.

I was really hoping this would work because some of my employees are off network a lot, and it would help to be able to work on email while offline.

It will be really hard for me to get you more information because the employee is remote and not super technical for fetching logs and what not. Unfortunately I don't have any Vista 64 machines available for my use (they would be running linux anyway)

Thanks!

One of the developers told me he has ZD on his 64bit Vista machine, and it works just fine. So it doesn't *appear* to be a problem with 64bit Vista machine per se. Situations like this where the user can't attach a file, or having problems sending message, it would be advantageous to send over the zdesktop.log file from the user's PC, and let us know what type of account was configured for the ZD app.

I don't know if I will be able to get the logs. This user was using was using ZD to talk to my Zimbra NE Server (details are in my sig & profile). I was not able to deal with the complaints so I told her to go back to using webmail and uninstall ZD from your computer. As a Zimbra customer I'd really like to be able to use the offline capability. According to the FAQs it says Vista 64 is not supported. With more and more laptops coming with Vista 64 I hope this changes in the future.
