hotmail sync messes up dates

Hello All,
I just installed Zimbra Desktop and tried to sync my Hotmail account. It synced fine, all my emails were downloaded just fine...
Then, as I have done in the past, I created a new folder in Zimbra Desktop for hotmail, for all my emails from 2008, and then selected and moved all my emails from the inbox into that folder.
Then, the next time it synced, everything went bonkers. Now, the emails that I moved to this new folder all have the date and time of the sync that happened after they were moved. I went to Hotmail on the web, and there too, all the emails in this new folder have the wrong date/time.
Why is this happening? Is this some sort of general issue, that when emails are moved to other folders using Zimbra Desktop, their date/time information is changed?!!
I hope someone can help me figure out what's going on!
