ZDesktop 1513 Still not handling URLs on mouseover

Hi,

I have upgraded to the RC2 release and I am still having the problem where when you hover over a URL, it is not highlighted and thus you cannot click on it to open a browser window. If I want to visit a link in an email, I need to select the URL text, click copy and paste the url into the browser.

I have restarted prism and rebooted the whole box as well to no avail. I have always had this issue throughout all the versions. I use Ubuntu Linux 8.10.

I am having this same problem. I am running build 1531 on a linux machine.

can you do Shift-F6->Commands (Gear icon on status bar)->Tools->Error Console, then try to mouse-over an url? copy and paste any errors you may find in error console.

I am having this same problem. I am running build 1531 on a linux machine.

Nothing appears in the error console when I mouse over a URL. The URLs are not rendered any differently than any of the other plain text in the message.

I am seeing lots of this error message (seems to always appear three times in a row) but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with URLs.

We are having trouble reproducing the issue you are seeing. Did you add more zimlets after initial installation?

Want to try a reinstallation on top of your existing one? (just re-run the installer)

No, I have not installed any other zimlets. You can see the contents of the zimlet directory in one of my previous posts. I think those are all installed by default. I have installed both the 1531 and 1537 builds since I reported this issue and there has been no change. Would completely removing the zimbra directory and then re-installing make a difference as opposed to upgrading? If you do think I should remove all traces and then re-install how to I save my local folders before I remove the zimbra directory? I am using the Linux version of the desktop running on CentOS 5.

There are 3 user data directories you need to backup: derby, index and store. Make sure you first stop ZD service (cd <install dir>; ./zdesktop stop) before copying those directories.

After a fresh installation, you have to stop ZD service again before you can replace those folders you have saved.

I re-installed 1537 from scratch, backing up and restoring my user data. Still no joy. URLs are not being recognized in email messages. That was on CentOS 5.3. I also tried on an Ubuntu 8.10 machine with the same result.

I checked with a colleague and he reports that it does work on his MS Windows machine. So perhaps it is a problem with the com_zimbra_url, zimbra desktop and Linux?
