Default [SOLVED] I must be doing something wrong.

    Hello everyone,
I have installed Zimbra Open Source on Ubuntu server 8.04 LTS. I did so by following the directions at the wiki page.... Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Server (Hardy Heron) Install Guide - Zimbra :: Wiki

It has never really worked well. Logger or Mailbox is constantly stopping and has to be restarted. Web users often "lock up" where no data is being sent, and they just close their web browser and try again later. Now zmmailboxdctl won't start at all and there is no web page anymore... When anyone tries to use it, over the internet or LAN, we get a white page that just says "It Works!" in the upper left hand corner.
I am the only administrator, I have made no changes, and I have not been able to find this problem described anywhere.
At this point I have tried to reinstall zcs 5.0.13 over the top about 3 times and I do get an error about halfway through that says there is a conflict on port 80, but it never fixes the problem. Also I can't log in LAN or WAN through Zimbra Desktop Client. I am lost
I am new to linux but have been learning fast. Someone please help me. I run this to keep a ambulance department calanders, email, and important files up.
I have put a lot of work into the set up and don't wish to see the hard work I have put into teaching 45 people to use it go to waste.
I don't know what to do and if I can't get a stable working environment going I will have to move to another suite.

How much RAM do you have on this server? Is it a real machine or a VM? Which version of Zimbra are you currently using?
    Regards

Default Sorry should have stated that

I apologize for not stating that earlier.

    2Gb RAM
    Pentium-D 2.6 GHz
    Asus P5WD2-E Mobo
    Maxtor IDE 40gig HDD
    ATI Radeon 9200 Video Card
Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Server CLI only
    ZIMBRA 5.0.13

No other software or services are running or installed.

I would really like to have it running stable and fast, something that has not happened so far.

If you would like the URL so you can see the web page let me know.

Yes, send me the url and a login (for a test account, if that's OK) via PM.

Just out of interest please post the output of the following commands (run on the Zimbra server):

    Code:
    cat /etc/hosts
    cat /etc/resolv.conf
    dig yourdomain.com mx
    dig yourdomain.com any
host `hostname` <-- type exactly that and use backticks not single quotes
    host -v yourserver.com
    Regards
