    Any Suggestions?
    Untick SSL for the SMTP server.

    This works but you have to use port 587.

    Default setting up hotmail in zimbra desktop

    You're right about the port numbers and you must use pop, because hotmail isn't a imap, even if zimbra support says it is a microsoft exchange. And make sure your password is right. I had some problems there for a time until I realized what was wrong.

    P.S. if you want to know what ports and servers to use for hotmail log into you hotmail account, click on support and type your question and you will get your answer. Have a good day ladies and gentlemen.
