if you are talking about using Desktop with Zimbra service, then they will be in perfect sync.
if you are talking about with IMAP services, keep in mind that due to IMAP protocol inefficiency we do long delays between full mailbox syncs. as a result you may see many things out of sync with each other at any given time, unless you do manully forced sync by doing "Send/Receive" on multiple computers.
I understand. What platform do you recommend using to get a home Zimbra server up and running with the least amount of complications?
Expanding on the original posters question:
We have an account (enquiries@x.co.uk) which we want simultaneous access to:
Person A logs into enquiries@x.co.uk using Zimbra Desktop
Person B logs into enquiries@x.co.uk using Zimbra Desktop on a different PC
Person C logs into enquiries@x.co.uk using Zimbra Web client on another PC
Each person will be reading mail, sending mail, replying etc simultaneously.
Is this type of concurrent access permitted?
We have been testing it and it seems to work perfectly apart from one anomaly:
Filters set up by person C can be seen by person B, but not by person A who can see only a filter which they set up.
We are using:
server Release 6.0.4_GA_2038.UBUNTU8 UBUNTU8 FOSS edition.
Zimbra Desktop 1.0.4 on Windows 7
I would be grateful for any advice...
If you mean the Zimbra Collaboration Suite I'd recommend using CentOS5 (install the relevant RHEL build of Zimbra), there are several threads and 'how to' on the forums. Don't forget you should install Zimbra on it's own machine and with enough RAM (see the Documentation for System Requirements) for it to work well, it's not a trivial task to set-up a Zimbra server but is fairly easy and painless if you do your homework beforehand.

Bill
