Offline access to shared briefcase & documents

Does anybody know of a work a round or zimlet that will enable Desktop to provide offline access to shared briefcase & documents?

Does anyone know if the going ons in this bug: Bug 19182 – Support sync'ing shared folders (mail, contacts, calendar...) in zimbra desktop means we'll see offline access to shared folders in Desktop soon?

we don't have near term plan of supporting offline access to shared resources. for now, you will have to be online to see shared briefcase and documents.

It would make sense to be online for shared resources anyway. Otherwise, I could change something in that shared briefcase, but you'll only see the "old" version until you come back online.

I hope that means you have a slightly longer than near term plan for it. In our set up we have a user that really is just there to host our file archive in it's briefcase and our wiki in it's documents and it's shared to our whole team with manager rights. Having access offline is the last missing feature to make the set up excellent.

Even though all offline set ups do have short comings I strongly believe that real offline access is crucial to a solution like Zimbra in a knowledge based workplace.

So heres a very strong recommendation for making a short term plan of making shared folders (all types) available offline (if admin permits) preferably controlled by some sort of toggle on/off solution.

I do agree that the scenario you describe is a short coming when taking a shared folder offline, but in my opinion it's worth that down side by far (see post above for our use case).
