That's strange. The config key change should bypass all ssl cert check.

In any case, in the next release even STARTTLS with invalid cert will give user a chance to accept.

Default invalid or untrusted server ssl certificate error

Zimbra Desktop for Linux Beta, has installed successful on Ubuntu 8.x.

Selected POP3, account has configured, when i click on validate & save button.

Error found: Invalid or untrusted Server SSL Certificate,


Please help.

dastagir, read and follow zzhuang's comment #9. I was having the same problem you're having, and following his suggestion worked for me. Remember to restart the service, not just the client. Rebooting the whole machine works too.

Problem is same even after restart the service or restart the operating system.

Did you make the config change? Merely restarting is not going to help.

dastagir, the comment you wrote that reads "How to see. Comment #9" is comment #29. This is shown at the top of the comment on the right-hand side of the blackish bar (the bar that has the date, time, comment number, the text "(permalink)", and two icons (one of which is a red circle that contains an exclamation point). Scroll through the pages and look for comment #9. zzhuang is right -- merely restarting is not going to help. You have to follow the suggestion. Follow the suggestion (remember to restart) and then write back with the results.

Default Status:Error Red color exclamation mark appeared.

After following the comment#9 error has gone,

I can send the mail but not able to receive,
