Default Cannot connect to pop3

Hello all i am having trouble setting up Zimbra Desktop with my works email server. I have gone through the set tup several times with several different options even using several different servers. Not sure what the problem might be as Zimbra only tells me Service error please check setttings. I have checked the usuall things ie firewalls and the like.

I can telnet to mail.server.ca 110 and tells me "hello there" so all seem right on port 110
I can also telnet to mail.myserver.ca 325 as my isp blocks 25 but the workaround 325 port on my server seems to be working fine.

Please help

ps were are the logs cannot find any error logs

please provide zdesktop.out and zdesktop.log under <install>/log. thanks!
