Default Only 63 Tags possible?

Hello, I unse Zimbra Open Source 5.010 GA with Desktopclient under Ubuntu and Win XP. I have 63 Tags in use and if I will use more Tags I get the message:
msg: exceeded limit of 63 tags
code: mail.TOO_MANY_TAGS
method: CreateTagRequest
detail: soap:Sender
data: [object Object]
Is this the maximum number of Tags I can use?

I don't find anything in the Forum abaut this, sorry.

Best Regards Markus

63 tags is a pretty reasonable amount, but I'm sure the programmers will be able to raise the limit to something higher in a future revision.

I guess I just dont tag things very much, I have three set up, and I think I use only two of them. I'm sure you have some specific use in mind for large numbers of tags though.

Hi Dirk,
my idea is to use Tags for Contacts, companys and projects. Maybe 200 Projects in3 years with 100 companys and 200 contacts.

Search by project:
Show me all contacts/Files/companys who are involved with projet Tagproject1, Tagproject2 …

Search by company:
show me all contacts in company Tagcompany1, Tagcompany2,...

And so on.....

Regards Markus

Hey, seems perfectly reasonable to me. It sounds like a bit of an admin task to ensure everything is tagged correctly, but the results sound like they should offset the effort.

As a workaround, could you add some distribution groups and add contacts to those to group them? This would mean you would need to know what question you want to ask before you ask it of course, but it would allow you to make adhoc groupings of your contacts. Wouldnt help with any emails though.

Looking at the bug that uxbod linked to, it does seem like this has been changed in the source tree, but the dates on the bug seem rather old. Hopefully it will be included in a new release soon though.

You should vote on bugs that you feel are important. That bug report has exactly 5 votes so it's obviously not going to be a high priority. It will, however, be fixed soon.
