Question Print Screen Cannot Paste

When I use Outlook, I can do a Alt + Prt/Sc (print screen) and paste into the emails. With Zimbra I cannot do that. I've tried several times without any luck. This is quite important for us to use at work. We are just testing the Zimbra Desktop right now.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Blueyeitln

Zimbra Desktop does not support pasting image into email.

However you can always use a simple app like "ScreenShot2File" (ScreenShot2File - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com), or "Screenshot Utility" (Screenshot Utility - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com) to save a screenshot with single key combo. Then just drag-n-drop the saved image to zimbra desktop compose windows.

On Vista, you can also use the "Snipping Tool" to capture screenshots.

Thumbs down

The problem with that is, you have to pay for it after 20 uses. Zimbra needs to show users its all that Outlook is and more. If we have to pay for attachments to a program that should be running head to head with Outlook, then its still behind them. I'm all for the open source so, we'll just have to wait or just stick with Microsoft.

Thanks anyway,

there are open source free screen capturers. like this one, if you have java installed, all you have to do is double-clicking the jar file, you will have a screenshot in c:\temp.

Full screen capture with Java

try the free irfanview: IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide
you can use it to edit and save in a number of different formats.

Is this sort of thing still an issue? I've got a couple users that would like to be able to paste screen shots directly into the body of a message as opposed to having to make an attachment. They're using the Zimbra webmail interface.

I'm not sure if this is still a problem. I decided to ditch Zimbra and went with Mozilla Thunderbird. You have to add a few things, which are all right there on their website and its free. The copy and paste works in there beautifully. Plus, it doens't take time to load up like Zimbra.

You just download:
Thunderbird - Email
Lightning - Calendar
Any other add-ons you want (including skins)

Happy Hunting.
