Default [SOLVED] Moving out of Zimbra back to Thunderbird

All - Well this has been a disappointment. Due to the fact that neither I nor anyone else can suggest a way of being able to search all folders simultaneously and the CLI is not available to Desktop users I am having to go back to Thunderbird.

Question is how do I convert/export the Zimbra data to something usable in Thunderbird?

if you just type something in the search box, that is searching in all folders for the current account.

the "setup/account settings" page does provide a way of exporting the content of your mailboxes (click on the account, then Manage Data...). but i am not sure whether Thunderbird can take those exported *.eml files or not.

You should be able to load the .eml files into Outlook and then T-bird can get at them using
the import function.

The answer was to use a small program (OutlookemlandmsgConverter) to convert Zimbra's .msg files into .eml files. Then using the advanced import addon in Thunderbird to import them.
