Bulk Change of Contact Data

Hello,

I have over 3000 contacts and have noticed the import from our previous product placed parenthese around our dialing codes, for eg.:

Home Number: (2) 8888 8888

where the format should be:

Home Number: 02 8888 8888

Is there any script method to bulk modify phone numbers to the correct format in my contacts?

Similar question - isn't there some way to change the default display to firstname lastname without having to edit each and every contact?

Specific to Zimbra desktop -it's the only Zimbra product I'm using.
