What permissions are required to run Zimbra Desktop on Windows?

What authorities to what objects are required? I was unable to launch it as user or power user. I had to add the account to Administrator, otherwise prism would crash before Zimbra would open.

I don't want to give users Administrative rights on desktops, as they tend to trash them with junk installs.

Can anyone give a detailed list of permissions required to use this application in lieu of carte blanche admin rights? [Windows XP]

I thought only the install had to be done as an Admin user. I didn't think it required that to run afterwards.

it can require admin privilege if you want to set zdesktop as default mail client since that involves registry change.

how we can deploy yahoo zimbra desktop to domain users then? zimbra desktop is made for home users? why it does need admin rights to just run?

I installed it for a couple of people on my network as a test. Only the install needed admin rights. It seemed to run fine under their own accounts afterwards.

but even installation path of zimbra is %homepath% , so it's installing under administrator %homepath% on the client, how the other user suppose to run from there?

We currently don't support multi-user from single install anyway.

then what's the point of supporting exchange? it's like "we currently don't support windows" zimbra is not an alternative to single user mail clients. there are several advanced mail clients already.

This is not the only issue. If you install the desktop client and create a mailbox, and then login as a different user and use IE to go to http: //localhost:7633 you will get the other users mailbox that is fully functional (this at least goes when using a zimbra back-end).
