Open Source Rebranding

I've been searching for information regarding rebranding with the OpenSource version. I apologize for my ignorance but I'm hoping someone can give an explanation that makes sense to a normal human.

I certainly have no intentions of claiming ownership of software written by Zimbra. Is it acceptable to change the color schemes, leave the Zimbra logo in the logo position and add my own branding to an ad to be displayed in the top banner?
