autocomplete works in web interface - not in zdesktop

Running under Fedora 8.
we have a gal setup with all the contacts in our org.

when I begin typing in the web interface of zimbra, autocomplete works.
when I begin typing a name in the zdesktop interface, no autocomplete (unless I've already typed, or sent mail to, that person's address before...)


Any ideas?

GAL access for Zimbra Desktop will be available in the next release - both of these are resolved: Bug 25263 - Need GAL support in offline & Bug 31439 - gal sync OOME

To connect to other LDAP directories please vote for: Bug 27015 - Request a method to add arbitrary LDAP server as shared (Read/Only) addressbook

Hello,

Could you please confirm if the fix for this is a part of 1338 build? And if yes, how do I configure the external LDAP from the Zimbra Desktop Client? I couldnt find any option to do so.
