Default Single file patch for 1278 users

If you are using the lastest beta release of build 1278, you need to apply a patch. Please follow these steps:

1. unzip the attach zip file.

2. copy the unzipped xmailManage.tag file to override the copy at <install>/jetty/webapps/zimbra/WEB-INF/tags/desktop/xmailManage.tag, where <install> is the folder you chose to install zdesktop.

3. delete everything under <install>/jetty/work but not the "work" folder itself. On windows you'll need to first shutdown the "Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop" service before you can delete the files there.

This patch is especially important to Yahoo! Mail users. Without it, you can not change settings on the Yahoo! Mail account setup page.

This fixes Bug 30864 - offline : smtpPassword undefined - can't change Y! account settings > Bug 30996 - ymail account setup page can't submit setting changes so you can change password/name/sync frequency/debug trace/etc.

If I do this will I still be able to update Zimbra? Also, does this fix the problem of Zimbra not downloading allo f the messages on Yahoo?

It will not interfere with update.

This will not directly fix the yahoo mail downloading issue, but with this patch you can finally turn on debug trace (from yahoo account setup page) which will provide more information on why your yahoo mail download doesn't work.

no it is not. that's why we want to see why you have this problem from your trace.

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. Is that patch for a mac and if so what program do I need to download to open it. And what is a trace and how do I get it?

The batch is for all platforms, it's essentially a text file re-named .tag but compressed in a .zip which pretty much any operating system has tools to extract.

It fixes an issue where you can't save changes to account settings - like turning on additional debug trace logging to ~/zimbra/zdesktop/log which is often needed needed to diagnose issues - like your thread here Yahoo Issues

After you follow the directions in the first post above to install the patch go to setup > account > enable debug logging checkbox.

when you have the debug trace enabled, try to sync with yahoo server again, note what happens, and send us the trace in <install>/log/zdesktop.out and <install>/log/mailbox.log. also describe in details about what you observed and what you expected. the best way to do all this is to file a bug and attach the logs. you can mark the attachments as private so only zimbra employees can see them.
