Default Does this thing work offine on standard Yahoo mail acct?

Attempted to work offline, got a "cannot connect to server" error... Synced fine, everything on the account made it over. (XPSP3-BTW)

Does one have to have a Yahoo "plus" account to use offline? If so, sorry Zimba, no sale. Other than consolidating various email accounts, it seems like the entire process of using this app is slower than just going to the Yahoo website and checking the mail. Seemed like being able to work offline on a standard acct. was the only unique propostion this app had, and all the press indicates it can do it...

Sorry if I sound grumpy and/or ungrateful, just need to know if I wasted 3 hours setting this thing up?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums,

You should be able to work offline regardless of plus or free account type - there's no restriction on anything.

Is this "can't connect to server" when you try to bring up the webapp? Is the background service running? (Prism should now start the service if it's not currently running, but it seems something isn't working properly on your system / or you're trying with another web-browser on localhost:7633)

Can you check the zdesktop/log/mailbox.log? (so on your platform XP that's drive:\zimbra\zdesktop\log\mailbox.log)

Let's make sure the service is started (or restart it):
Windows key + r > run > services.msc > Zimbra Desktop

mmorse -

Thanks for your reply. Here's a little bit of what I'm looking at:

When I turn off the WiFi connection (i.e. go offline), attempt to read an email that has been sync'd the error message is:

Cannot Connect to Server
EMPTY_RESPONSE
SearchConvRequest

Here's the WARN lines from the log:

As far as what appeared in the services.msc, the Zimba service is running and nothing particularly odd jumped off the screen.

Again, thanks for taking an interest in the problem. I've got a number of folks that are interested in this product that want my take....

Please consider this thread closed. App deleted, perhaps might reexamine when ready for prime time, perhaps not. Too much drama for what amounts to a souped-up Outlook...

Good luck.
