Default Holy batman, lookit the RAM

Holy moley, this thing chugs RAM like beer.
The service uses over 170mb of RAM!
And the program itself, when open, over 200.

For just the service, that's an insane amount! Are there plans to bring that down?
Granted I have 2gb of RAM, but I'm running Vista, and this is only one of many things I have open..

On my laptop, can't run this thing, everything slows to a crawl because there's not enough memory

But whether the client is running or not, it's still using an insane amount.

I'm seeing it varying from at least 125, upto 210 (!!).

And if I disable the service, the client doesn't finish loading.

Default Beta software

Unfortunately that's what happens when stuff is still in beta. I'm sure they are concerned just as much as we are about this.

For some reason it only claims 60 MB of my RAM on my Vista with 2 GB of RAM. It should not slow you down that badly. I don't notice much difference. Just hang in there and they'll probably fix it up.

reducing memory consumption is on our todo list.

Yup, understood.
It's odd since the services takes up so much, Outlook services takes up about 10 mb, program about 70.

It wouldn't be a problem, except I run alot of apps, and the occasional game. And I'm kind of a memory whore
But 200 + about another 100 for Prism, quite a bit.

And thanks for the answer jjzhuang.
I also can't get my contacts to transfer from Y! Mail, but that's a separate issue...
