Default Connecting to MS Exchange Server using Zimbra desktop

Hi,

We have an MS Exchange server in our office which we use for email and calendering. Recently, as a cost cutting measure Outlook has been removed from our systems and we have been using web access. I have been lobbying to implement Zimbra without much success.

My question is, can I access my exchange server account through Zimbra desktop application? If I am able to demonstrate this, I think I will be able to convince the organisation to move to Zimbra completely.

Thanks!

currently you will only be able to use IMAP to synchronize email messages between zdesktop and exchange server. There are RFEs already filed to also get calendar and contacts data, but that's not available and will not be available in 1.0 GA.

actually it looks like there's a blocking bug:

Bug 30265 – Fix support for IMAP servers lacking UIDNEXT

this affects imap sync with exchange server.
