Default sharing problem, it isn't there

hi,

i have installed zcs on centos 5.1, in vmware as a test although i don't think this should affect it, using the platform-override and everything goes well.

however when i login as a new user which i have created, using the zimbra desktop (on both windows and linux), i cannot share anything.

calendars, contacts etc. do not have the sharing option in the right-click popup.

i have checked the COS features and it is enabled but i still cannot share.

i have reinstalled it on centos, have used a community build on ubuntu 8.04, both install and seem to work flawlessly except for this sharing thingie.

The main reason i want to start using this is for calendar sharing so i need to sort this.

any help would be great

cheers

paul

Welcome to the forums

So does this work through the Ajax client ? It may be related to Bug 26170 - Cannot accept the share calendar using Zimbra Desktop

thanks, glad i found them

haven't tried it as yet becasue if this all works we will be rolling out the desktop, according to all the docs you simply right click select sharing and away you go.

my problem is that when i right click anything there is no sharing to select and i have no experience as yet on how to troubleshoot zimbra so thought i would ask here

just tried a quick share calendar using the web, accepted as another user and it works

however when i start the zimbra desktop, the shared calendar which works in http does not show up at all.

i would have thought it would show up but it doesn't, should it show up in the desktop app?

The Desktop is still beta and Sharing folders isn't available yet.

Default Sharing No Go

No go in desktop I can understand.
No go in ZCO is a little annoying (if not a lot)

And surprise surprise, I've just tried to share web client to web client and whilst I get the share notification on the receiving end, we don't see any ability to add this folder. No attachment, no link, no sign of it on the tree. ???

Why doesn't sharing work consistently? It worked whilst testing prior to purchase, now we start to roll out and it doesn't.
