Zimbra

Due to a huge mistake on my part, I have about 20,000 messages that reside solely in a Zimbra Desktop message store on Windows. The instance of ZCS server used to create this Desktop store copy has been nuked. I need to get those back into a server (or some other format that can be then imported to ZCS.) Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums

First thing would be to make sure you have a backup of the message store on Windows. Have you rebuilt the ZCS server yet ?

What version of ZCS and ZCD are you running ?

ZCS Version: Release 5.0.5_GA_2201.RHEL5_20080417012110 CentOS5 FOSS edition

Yes. The server was rebuilt and is currently working fine. It has the same FQDN/userid as the old one yet Desktop would not sync to it at the time I built it. I'm guessing a UUID or some other hidden identifier is being used as part of the sync. At this point the new server has several weeks of new mail for the same account stored in it. I was hoping there was a way to harvest the mail directly from the windows store.

Okay, Have a read off the fourth post from mmorse :- Recover data from MBOX folders
If you copy your zimbra/store from your Windows machine, or just copy all the .msg files, into a folder on your ZCS server. Then you can re-inject them back into ZCS. Hope that helps.
