Default Spell Check

Is there a spell check function available yet in Zimbra Desktop? If not, any suggestions for how to incorporate a spell feature in it? Thanks.

Not quite, but there is an enhancement for it.

Prisim should (if it doesn't already) have a built in spell check sometime in the future. If you need to, you can open firefox and go to localhost:7633. FF has built in spell checks.

I know that's not quite what you wanted, but hope it helps

If you are using 1119, then spell check in composer window is there already. Not sure why you are not seeing it. It's basically the same as firefox spell check.

I found that both 1083 and 1119 have the red underlining of unrecognized words. But 1083 also has a "spell check" button in the toolbar. My installations of 1119 don't have this button, and I see no setting to create the button in preferences.

That's been intentionally removed. Any reason why you need it?

We would like to have suggested alternives for misspelled/unreconized words. Something simular to the web interface. As you can see from this some of us need more help with our spelling

I am using Mac version 1291 and it does not have a spell check either. It will underline some misspelled words but will not suggest alternatives or automatically replace it with the correct spelling (so technically it has one but not in the traditional sense).

I work for a university that has switched to the Zimbra mail system, and we would like to get our users off of using Outlook (mainly because dealing with connectors is a pain) and onto using the web interface or Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop.

The Zimbra Desktop is going to be useless to us without a spell check because the faculty and staff are picky and want things done for them. That means if Zimbra Desktop does not do something then they will keep insisting on Outlook.

Is there a place to submit a feature request?

Prism spellcheck has been fixed in the just released Beta 3 build 1278, so that it will now suggest words (it previously just underlined): Bug 30610 - Spellcheck suggests don't work in email editor

Aspell/or other solution (for all browsers) is another RFE: Bug 23112 - support spell check

I have the latest Zimbra Desktop, and there is no spell check feature offered. I just read the bug report, and it says that it was fixed, but I don't believe it has.

Can someone please comment on the status of this? When I use the web client -- I see the Check Spelling feature. But in the offline Desktop (build 1691) it's not offered.

Looking forward to your reply --

Ziv.
