Default Laptop powerstate issue (beta 1)

Hi,

I use Zimbra Desktop on my laptop. When running zdesktop server, which I'd really like to do all of the time, my CPU about 200 types a second. 49% of those wakeups are:

42.8% (120.5) java : futex_wait (hrtimer_wakeup)

It doesn't sound like much, but I've lost a bit of battery life. Is there a wake to keep the wakeups a bit lower?

Thanks,
Gerald

ps: I use powertop to test my wakeups and estimated battery usage.

Which platform are you on? And how does it compare to other applications you are running? Thanks!

Duh, sorry. I should know better than that.

This was under Kubuntu 7.10, a fresh install. The next competitor was waking up 8.2 % of the time (the xserver). The rest I can't recall.

I'll see if I can compile a new kernel for my Sabayon install and let you know what's going on there.

Gerald
