Default Toaster proxy issue

I have zimbra setup with https proxying through apache so that I can do virtual hosting of https in front of zimbra, that is working great. Until I get to setting up toaster. I don't want the overhead of double encrypting the traffic for each client so I take client -- https --> apache -- http --> jetty as the route for inbound traffic. This makes zimbra much snappier and makes the server load happier as well. This doesn't work so hot with toaster, if you try to view a message in full from the toaster pop up it loads the http link in your browser instead of the https. Is there any workaround for this?

P.S. - It does work fine if I have client -- https --> apache -- https --> jetty
P.P.S. - I am on 5.0b2
